CTT - Yarn Abrasion Tester
INTRODUCTION
The YAT is specifically designed to measure yarn abrasion. The accurate data from the YAT provides reliable abrasion information for reducing production and raw material costs. Several factors that affect abrasion include: fiber shapes, titanium dioxide process additives, and/or spinning methods (sugar on cotton-honeydew, open -end, ring spinning.)
Tests
- Measures abrasion from different processes to compare abrasion resistance between yarn types.
- Determines effects of finishes, additives, and volume levels on abrasion.
- Determines effects of trash content levels in cotton yarn on abrasion.
Advantages
Reduces component wear, such as threadguides, needles, and heddles to significantly reduce costs while improving quality. Proven performance has extended cycle time of machine components as much as 35% longer.
