In a decisive move to strengthen its presence in the European textile market, Lawson Hemphill has officially set up a new company: Lawson Hemphill GmbH. Registered under German corporate law, this European subsidiary is designed to bring sales, service, and technical support closer to customers across the EU and the UK.

The creation of Lawson Hemphill GmbH addresses several long-standing challenges faced by European buyers, including long shipping times from Asia, customs clearance delays, and limited access to factory-authorized calibration services. With a legal entity based in Germany, the company can now hold local inventory, offer EU-compliant documentation, and respond much faster to service requests.

The GmbH will initially focus on:

Distributing spare parts and consumables from a central European warehouse

Providing on-site installation and training via local field engineers

Managing warranty claims and certified repairs without transcontinental shipping

While the primary manufacturing remains in Shanghai (following the acquisition and relocation), the European subsidiary gives customers the best of both worlds: cost-effective production from China paired with responsive, localized support from Germany. Early feedback from European mills and testing labs has been positive, particularly regarding reduced lead times for replacement parts.

Lawson Hemphill GmbH will operate under German commercial law, with its own service contracts and invoicing in euros. The company has also begun the process of registering its key product lines for CE compliance where required, ensuring smooth market access across the continent.
